Like many parents, I never imagined that one of my biggest worries would be something as ordinary as sunshine.

As a child, I remember spending hours outdoors. I also remember how sensitive my skin would become after long days in the sun, though I rarely thought much about it then.

Years later, after becoming a mother, those memories returned with a different perspective.

Watching my children run around at daycare, school, parks, and on family vacations, I realized how much of their childhood happens outdoors. They are too busy chasing butterflies, building sandcastles, and making memories to remember sunscreen or look for shade.

That is our job.
