Ordering kids' clothes online means you can't hold the shirt up to your child first. So we made our size guide as literal as possible: real garment measurements, in inches, for every size. This guide explains how to use them.

How to Read the HQSAGA™ Size Chart

All values are flat garment measurements in inches, taken with the shirt laid flat, and may vary by ±0.5 inch. Each measurement has a letter:

Our Two Fits

Our current range uses two sets of measurements. Always double-check the Size Guide on the product page you're buying from.

Classic Tee Fit

Used by Puzzle Thinker, Catching Rays, LOVED., Sheep Shirt, Sun Loading, Sunny Snacker and Tiny Sun Chaser.

Ruffle and Flutter-Sleeve Fit

Used by Little Sparkle, Sweet As Can and both Rainbow Shirt styles. This fit is a little wider at the chest and hem, with shorter short sleeves.

How to Measure a Toddler Shirt at Home

1. Pick a tee your child wears now that fits the way you like.
2. Lay it flat on a table and smooth it out without stretching.
3. Chest (A): measure straight across from armpit seam to armpit seam.
4. Length (B): measure from the high shoulder point, next to the collar, straight down to the hem.
5. Sleeve (E or F): measure the sleeve length if you're choosing a long-sleeve style.
6. Compare with the tables above and choose the size whose numbers are closest.

Between Sizes? Here's How the Steps Work

In both fits, each size up adds about 0.75 inch to chest width and body length. For example, in the classic fit, the 2T vs 3T shirt measurements are 11.0 vs 11.75 inches across the chest and 15.75 vs 16.5 inches long.

If your child's favorite tee lands between two of our sizes, the larger one gives more room to grow into. The closer one will fit more like what they're wearing now.

There's also a practical reason not to go too snug with our UPF styles: the Skin Cancer Foundation notes that tight clothing can stretch, letting more UV pass through. Read more in Everyday UPF Clothing for Kids.

Will It Shrink?

Our garments have been evaluated for appearance after repeated washing with satisfactory results. To help maintain the best fit, follow the care label: machine wash cold with like colors and tumble dry low or hang dry. More on that in our care guide.

If the Size Isn't Right: The HQSAGA™ Return Policy

Here is our current policy, as it appears on our Refund Policy page:

• 30-day returns: Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of delivery in unworn, unwashed condition with original tags attached.
• Refunds: Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days after we receive and inspect the return.
• Non-returnable: Final sale items, gift cards, and items marked non-returnable at purchase cannot be returned.
• How to start: Email hello@hqsaga.com with your order number and reason for return.
• Return shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item is defective, damaged, or we shipped the wrong item.
• Exchanges: Email hello@hqsaga.com with your order number and the size you'd like instead, and we'll help with available return or exchange options.

Tip: Because returns need to be unworn and unwashed with tags on, do a quick try-on over a clean outfit before the first wash, and keep the tags on until you're sure.
